January 7, 2016Schenectady County Historical Society Announces 2016 Howlin’ at the Moon Concert Season at Mabee Farm Historic Site
The Schenectady County Historical Society proudly presents its ninth season of the Howlin’ at the Moon concert series at Mabee Farm Historic Site. Each month on the full moon, Mabee Farm will host an evening of toe-tapping live music, featuring regional bluegrass and folk artists.
Summer concerts take place in Mabee Farm’s historic 1760s Dutch barn. Winter concerts are held in the Franchere Center at Mabee Farm. Each concert begins at 7 p.m. with a singer/songwriter opener, then moves on to the evening’s main act. Admission is $5.00, and refreshments are available for purchase.

Friday, March 25: Everest Rising with Mark Baptiste
A tightly-knit quartet influenced by folk, jazz, rock and more, Everest Rising creates a progressive acoustic sound that is unique yet comfortably familiar. Their innovative instrumental arrangements and thoughtful lyrics take the listener up less-traveled routes. With a wide dynamic range, Everest Rising’s material spans from heartfelt laments to all out rave-ups, all executed with instrumental finesse and attention to detail.
Friday, April 22: Dyer Switch with Patrick Sharrow
Dyer Switch’s hard-driving traditional, original, and unique bluegrass and acoustic music is dynamic, captivating, and performed with mesmeric charm.
Sunday, May 22: Washington County Line Bluegrass with M.R. Poulopoulos
Serving up straight-ahead traditional bluegrass, seasoned with bluegrass interpretations of early country, folk, and contemporary tunes, Washington County Line features the songs of bluegrass giants such as Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, the Stanley Brothers, and Red Allen, as well as folk music icons and singer/songwriters including Gordon Lightfoot, Tom Paxton, Bob Dylan, and Ralph McTell.
