Get a behind the scene tour of Jacob Lawrence’s “Migrations Series” with the Albany Symphony!

Thursday May 7, journey with the Albany Symphony to the Museum of Modern Art in New York City for a special viewing of Jacob Lawrence’s groundbreaking paintings of the “Great Migration.” Lawrence’s painting are the inspiration behind the Derek Bermel’s “Migrations Series for Jazz band and Orchestra” being performed as part of the American Music Festival Saturday, May 16, at EMPAC in Troy, NY. Venture with us by charter bus to New York, enjoy a light dinner at MoMA’s Cafe 2, and then begin your private afterhours tour with MoMA curatorial staff as they lead us through each of the 60 paintings, which have not been exhibited in their entirety in over 20 years.
