Nonprofits Join Forces for Downtown Yard Sale

Two Albany nonprofits will head to Downtown this September for a fundraising event benefitting their respective programs. Albany Center Gallery and Historic Albany Foundation will join forces to host a yard sale on September 19 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Tricentennial Park, located at Broadway and Columbia Street, Albany, NY.

“The idea is to give the community a place to bargain shop while finding cool and unique items for a great deal with the money going to a good cause,” says Albany Center Gallery executive director Tony Iadicicco.

The Albany Center Gallery will offer an eclectic mix of old and new items, all donated by supporters, ranging from clothing and jewelry to artwork and more; proceeds will help fund programming efforts. Donated pieces for the event are being accepted through August 26 and can be dropped off at the gallery, 39 Columbia Street, from Noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

At their booth, Historic Albany Foundation will sell items from their Lexington Avenue warehouse, including antique furniture, original windows, and light fixtures, at the yard sale. Proceeds from sale of these items will go toward the foundation’s preservation programs.
