Local Nonprofit CEO Chosen to Assist in Combating World Crisis of Global Poverty

Rayn Boncie, CEO/Founder of Things of My Very Own, Inc., has been selected to attend the Effective Altruism Global 2016 conference in San Francisco next month. She was hand-picked from thousands of applicants and nominations throughout the world because she possess the right combination of analytic thinking with altruistic motivations. Not only was she chosen to attend, but she was also awarded a scholarship.

This year, participants will include an eclectic mix of scientists, students, politicians, hedge fund managers, engineers, academics, programmers, philosophers, social workers and individuals from all walks of life coming together to figure out how to best approach global crisis. During the conference she will be working with others on an action plan for how to combat global poverty. She will also be trained on how to more effectively combat poverty throughout the State of New York.

Things of My Very Own, Inc. is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Corporation that provides crisis intervention services and programs to children who have been impacted by extensive abuse and/or neglect. The organization also works with families in immediate risk of a Child Protective Services intervention so that children may remain with their non-abusive family members whenever possible.
