Local Coffee House Celebrates Five Years of Keeping Customers “Happily” Caffeinated

Happy Cappy_Five Year Anniversary_Press Release_FinalOn September 26th, local coffee house, The Happy Cappuccino, will celebrate five years of keeping its customers in downtown Schenectady ‘happily’ caffeinated. To celebrate the anniversary, the coffee shop will offer a huge BOGO sale…all customers who purchase a coffee, tea or espresso beverage on September 26th will receive one FREE!* “It’s the least we can do to show our gratitude and appreciation for the love we’ve received from our loyal customers over the past five years,” says owner, Matt Robbins.

The Happy Cappuccino’s flagship location on Jay Street is home to locally roasted, certified organic and fair trade coffee, specialty espresso drinks, delicious vegan and gluten-free pastries and collaborations with local artists. An eclectic and welcoming environment, The Happy Cappuccino has grown to be a go-to spot for the Jay Street community’s coffee and arts aficionados alike.

Coffee connoisseur and owner, Matt Robbins, along with his wife Vicki, opened The Happy Cappuccino five years ago with one thing in mind – providing his local community with a really good cup of coffee. “For us coffee and espresso come first,” says Robbins. “Respect the bean…actually the seed but bean sounds better.” It’s that simple motto, “respecting the bean,” that has driven Robbins’ business to succeed over the past five years, so much so that a second location was opened in Crossgates Mall just over one year ago. The Crossgates location upholds the same commitment to serving its patrons only the best certified organic, fair trade coffee and espresso drinks, as well as offering a full vegan-friendly breakfast and lunchtime menu. Having seen such an overwhelming outpour of support and steady stream of customers in both “Happy Cappy” locations over the past five years, Robbins is optimistic in his plans for the future. “I would love to open a few more shops in the Capital Region, as well as expand the Jay Street location with more vegan-friendly food options,” says Robbins. “The goal is to live long and caffeinate, always.”

Visit The Happy Cappuccino at 185 Jay Street in downtown Schenectady or at Crossgates Mall on the lower level just outside of Lord & Taylor on September 26th and receive one FREE* beverage with your purchase in honor of the shop’s five-year anniversary.
