Library Connects Local Authors with Readers

The Schenectady County Public Library in partnership with the Hudson Valley Writers Guild is holding its annual Community of Writers event on Sunday, November 19, at 2:00 pm.

The Community of Writers invites seven local authors to read selections from their books and to sell and sign copies after the program.

This year’s featured authors include: first time novelist Todd Monahan, author of Saving Babe Ruth and The Killdeer Connection Tom Swyers, poets Carolee Bennett and Dawn Marar, memoirist Paul O’Brien, Schenectady native Joan Kruger and writer and local community activist Richard R Jackson.

“We are really excited to work with the Hudson Valley Writers Guild in offering such a variety of writing styles this year” says Adult Services Librarian Leah LaFera. “From a real-life account of growing-up inside a prison to a page turning thriller, we are sure to be on the edge of our seats as we listen to these amazing authors read from their work.”

Copies of the featured authors work will be for sale with a signing to follow. Coffee and desserts will be served and admission is free.

The Schenectady County Public Library is located at 99 Clinton St in downtown Schenectady. For more information on this and other free events contact us at (518) 388-4500 or visit us online at http://www.scpl.org.
