May 19, 2016EY Announces Death Wish Coffee Company Owner Mike Brown is Named an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2016 Finalist in New York
EY announced that Owner, Mike Brown of Death Wish Coffee Company is a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2016 Award in the New York region. The awards program, which is celebrating its 30th year, recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Brown was selected as a finalist by a panel of independent judges. Award winners will be announced at a special gala event on June 22 at the Marriott Marquis.
Death Wish Coffee, deemed the world’s strongest coffee, was the brainchild of Brown who first produced the potent blend in the basement of his coffee shop, hoping to wow his café customers who frequently requested a stronger cup. Brown has come a long way-from selling his first bag of Death Wish through a Facebook ad-to being the number one selling coffee on Amazon for two years running. In 2015, Death Wish Coffee Company was thrust into the national spotlight when they were announced as the winner of the Intuit Small Business Big Game Competition, landing the company a thirty-second commercial spot during Super Bowl 50. From basement brew to global gulp, Brown and his small crew work tirelessly to spread to word (and aroma) of the world’s strongest coffee.
Now in its 30th year, the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year program has expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 145 cities in more than 60 countries throughout the world.
Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year National program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year National Overall Award winner, will be announced at the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year National Awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on November 19, 2016. The awards are the culminating event of the Strategic Growth ForumTM, the nation’s most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
