Dr. Christopher Burky Named Chair of Ellis Medical Group’s Department of Psychiatry

Christopher Burky, M.D. has been named chair of Ellis Medical Group’s Department of Psychiatry. He has been a member of Ellis Mental Health at Ellis Hospital and Ellis Adolescent Treatment Center since early 2014.

Dr. Burky earned his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, Penn. He completed his residency and fellowship at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, N.H. Dr. Burky is also an assistant professor at Albany Medical College and an outpatient preceptor for students at Albany Medical College, Sage College School of Nursing and Rochester School of Nursing. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

He lives in Middle Grove, NY.

Ellis Medicine’s Adolescent Treatment Center serves children from a wide geographic area that extends from Poughkeepsie to Canada, and from the Vermont border to the Syracuse area. The focus of the Adolescent Treatment Center is to provide short-term intensive treatment for teens in crisis, including severe episodes of Depression and Anxiety, Bi-polar Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), eating disorders, severe behavioral disorders and other issues.
