City Line Bar and Grill to Host Lip Sync Battle Series to Benefit Local Charities

City Line Bar and Grill is aiming to shed light on local charities and host a friendly competition for both a good time and for a good cause. Thursday, August 27 through Friday, November 16, City Line Bar and Grill will host one Lip Sync Battle per month in support of local charities.

Each event will be hosted by Greg Aidala, Founder off Radial Gage Entertainment and the Brew Ha-Ha Comedy Showcase. Additionally, each Lip Sync Battle will be judged by local celebrity judges. August’s judges are three team members from Nine Pin Ciderworks.

The highlighted charities for each month are as follows:

  • August – Habitat for Humanity Capital District
  • September – Boys and Girls Club of Albany
  • October – Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York
  • November – Maddie’s Mark Foundation

Each charity will receive 10% of all same-day proceeds as a donation for participating.

Interested participants, age 18 years and older, are encouraged to enter and partake alongside charity representatitve for a chance to win a variety of prizes. Each contestant is responsible for performing two songs, limited to four minutes each, from any genre and era, as long as it’s appropriate, and are judged on four categories: Lip Sync Abilities, Creativity, Stage Presence and Choreography, and the Fan Vote. Each battle’s winner and runner-up will advance to the Grand Championship Finale on Wednesday, December 16 for a chance to win a prize that sounds too good to be true, but it is! A total of over $2000 will be given out in cash prizes.

To sign-up for any of the four battles, interested participants must call City Line Bar and Grill at 518.504.1200. Space is extremely limited with only 7 available spots per competition. City Line Bar and Grill is located at 1200 Western Ave in Albany. Parking is available in their parking lot with additional parking available at the Best Western Hotel.
