Center Consumers & Staff to Participate in NYSID WORKS! Community Thank You Day

Employees, administrators and adult program participants with disabilities from the Center for Disability Services will celebrate work by working when they take part in NYSID WORKS on Thursday, September 17 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Habitat for Humanity Home, located at 204 Sheridan Ave in Albany and Capital Roots community garden at 261 8th Street in Troy!

Additional Information: Volunteers from the Center for Disability Services will conduct a beautification project at the Albany site and a second group will clean up the Capital Roots’ community garden in Troy.

New York State Industries for the Disabled, Inc., NYSID, created the statewide service day to thank New York for employing workers who have disabilities. NYSID is observing its 40th anniversary.

Annually, NYSID provides employment opportunities for more than 6,800 New Yorkers who have disabilities through its contracts for janitorial, document imaging, industrial laundry, office assistance and other services to employers. It also markets products assembled, packaged and manufactured by people with disabilities.
