Capital District Child Care Council Hosts 2nd Annual MONSTER MILE and 5K Run/Walk to Fight Childhood Obesity

The Capital District Child Care Council is seeking runners and walkers who don’t mind a little monster madness! The community is invited to participate in the second annual Monster Mile and 5K Run/Walk. The event is family-friendly and includes activities for children and adults alike. The morning will kick off on Saturday, September 26 at 9:30 a.m. with the Mini-Monster Dugout Dash led by SouthPaw from the Tri-City ValleyCats. At 10 a.m. the free Monster Mile fun run begins and at 10:30 a.m. the 5K run/walk will start. The 5K is just $25 and is open to runners and walkers of all skill levels. The Albany Smile Monster will also make an appearance to cheer on the racers and spread smiles for miles. This event will take place at Ganser Smith Park 53 Menand Road in Menands.

All proceeds will benefit programs and services offered by the Capital District Child Care Council that support the healthy growth and development and encourage physical activity for young children.
