HEAR TULIP MANIA MUSIC PROJECT ON MAY 6   Local Musicians Perform Long-lost Tulip Fest Song at Washington Ave. Branch

Several local musicians perform their own unique takes on a long-lost Tulip Fest song on Wednesday, May 6, at the Washington Ave. Branch (2nd floor Local History Room) from 6 to 8 pm as part of the Tulip Mania Music Project.

Acclaimed local musicians Accents, Henry’s Rifle, and Angela Bove present their interpretations of the six-decade old Tulip Festival song, “When Tulips Bloom Again,” alongside their own original compositions. You can also view the library’s fascinating Tulip Fest history collection at the event.

The song was recently uncovered by local history buff Julie O’Connor. Written in 1957, “When Tulips Bloom Again” was performed at Tulip Fest for many years, but has been unheard for decades.

The City of Albany, Albany Public Library and Exit 97.7 FM are teaming up to present the Tulip Mania Music Project.
