The Tech Valley Nonprofit Business Council provides educational programs throughout the year for nonprofit executives and staff. The council gives members insight into the latest trends and issues facing nonprofit organizations, while serving as a forum for nonprofits and for-profits to connect and collaborate to address common issues and opportunities.
A recently completed study of Capital Region nonprofit organizations has made it clear just how significant an impact the sector makes on the region’s economy. Over a 10-year period (2003-2013), nonprofits accounted for more than 90 percent of total new job creation in the Capital Region. The Capital Region’s charitable nonprofit workforce is nearly 80,000 people, and the associated state income tax payments made by those workers is $125 million. Read the complete study here.
